We loved the place, very big and confortable, nice view, quiet. (Directions provided to find the place were not very helpful, it took us 1 hour to find it once we were in Florence- and it is only about 10 mins. from Florence)
However, when we arrived (December 25), the place was ice cold, no heating had been put on prior to our arrival. It had been cold in the appartment for a while...all ... (more)the bed sheets and the blankets were wet with humidity, we had to put them on the heaters to dry them out, the sheets dried fast enough, but 2 days for the blankets and it took 2 days for the appartment to warm up (all stone walls). I mentionned this to the property manager to ensure that we would not be changed for all the heating on these 2 days as it should not have been up to us to 1. heat the appartment and 2. dry the bed sheets/blankets. Upon departure, they wanted us to pay 350$ Euros. for the heat for 5 nights. They only wanted to remove 50$ for the 2 fist days, I had to argue and argue with them to reduce the price. So moral of this is that if you have to pay for heating, ask how much per day in advance...

We throroughly enjoyed our week in Casa Di Vignolo. We arrived after an unexpected snowfall, and were warmly welcomed by the owner and their son who had made sure the villa was lovely and warm for our arrival. They showed us how everything worked and even walked us around the village to show us the butcher, minimart, pharmacy, bakery etc. They could not have been more welcoming. Our whole family o... (more)f 6 enjoyed the cooking lesson and the following dinner with the owner's family. A real experience of Tuscany. The snow melted during the day after our arrival and it was lovely to see the countryside change from white to green - I am not sure which is more beautiful. A fantastic experience.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Del Gallo Nero. There were 10 of us staying for 5 days over the Thanksgiving time period. The service/info we received from the owner and management company was excellent. We had many questions/requests ahead of time and each one was addressed and worked out. The villa is well equipped and comfortable. There were a few minor bathroom issues (slow drains, brok... (more)en shower head in one B.R.) but all in all, it was in good working order. A highlight of our stay was when the winemaker across the road came over to give us a personal wine tasting. Fantastic! We also had a chef come in one day (recommended by property manager) to cook. Awesome! We would definitely go back.

I Tigli was a dream. A perfect place to immerse ourselves in the Tuscan culture for our dream holiday. The apartment was perfectly appointed and the family was helpful and attentive when we needed them to be. I would definitely recommend I Tigli to anyone wanting a REAL Tuscan experience. This house is the ideal Florence location. It's located on a quiet residential block about a 5 minute (or less) walk from Ponte Vecchio. For a couple, it's the perfect setup- cozy loft bed, very basic kitchen, and small sitting area. The bathroom, however, is the only real negative aspect of this property. Be sure your shower is quick, there's only enough hot water for a quick dip.

The propoerty can be difficult to find but, once there, you will not be disappointed. It is a gorgeous property, and you will feel you have been transported back several hundred years when you stay there.

We had a wonderful week in La Miccia, beautifully renovated historic building on the square. We strolled in the morning for our coffee, pastry and newspaper. Very easy access to a number of locations in Chianti and the rest of the Tuscan region.
Our evening of cooking and eating with Marina and Francesco was a highlight, with wonderful Tuscan hospitality to remember for years.
